You will never get back the things you lost inside his bed. The things you thought you had have left you bloodied, broken, left for dead. You can never take back the things you know you should have said. I saw your pride out on the roadside in a pool of its regret. I will drown you in affection. I will smother you in grace. And I will watch your last breath leave you as it slowly drains your faith. The bitter taste of past rejection, still it lingers in her throat. While she would love to come and kiss you, know she can’t. Know she won’t. Controller, Control me. Deceiver, Decieve.

They call me the snake that led them astray. My words, a compass pointed in the wrong way. They swore they’d let us out, but we’re still trapped inside. These stories they let out are much too often lies. Soon there’ll come a day, until then we’ll lay in wait, when the doors will be left open and our chains they will all break. Break away from the man with no hands who tells you pray. Break free from the man in the desert who sells gasoline. Come carry me away. They call me the snake that made them afraid. If this all goes unspoken then we’ll say it was fate. They swore they’d let us out, but all they do is lie. These stories they let out will never answer why. Simple words breed simple minds. Simple minds draw solid lines. Break away from the man with no hands who tells you pray. Break free from the man in the desert who sells gasoline. Come, Brother! Please come and set them free. They’ll be the ones with blindfolds tied, their minds much too afraid to see. Come, Vulture! Come carry me away. I’ll be the snake, bound up and gagged, mouth full of things I’ve yet to say.

This city is breathing. It’s calling out your name. It looks like you were next in line to be swallowed in its wake. But that’s nothing to be scared about. We knew the day would come, when our dreams would cease to be and our fears could have their fun. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Mediocrity is a plague, and this city needs to be quarantined. Take me out with infection. We’re all infected now. I dreamt about a war of people fraught with fear who didn’t know what they were fighting for. I’d scream had I the heart, but in this place. I am a ghost. I am empty. I am starved. This is the last line that you will ever hear me sing. This is the last time that you will ever hear from me. The tension is rising, but so is our resolve. It seems all that we’ll leave are our words when we’re gone. We’re living in a war that we will never win. We’ll never find what we are searching for, but I’ll scream while I still can. Because though I am empty, I am full of something I will never understand. A silent struggle in our minds. Hand in hand, the hands of time. They lead us blind into the dark where our names in stone are carved. But I see light where others don’t. I have faith. It’s faith in hope and I will never let go. We’re living in a war that we will never win. We’ll never find what we are searching for, but I’ll scream while I still can. You aren’t empty. You are full of something you don’t understand. Keep on fighting, you will see all that you wanted is not what you believed. We’ll keep on fighting. There’s so much left to see. We’ll keep on running. Now’s our chance, we’re free.

I can’t stand the cold. Especially when it screams confession. They’re gonna figure me out. I’ll reveal your obsession. Just sleep, child. Because where you’re going? You won’t. Here come the police, child. It’s finally time to play your role. Learn my craft. Commit the crime. They will believe. Just recite your lines. I’m center stage with the perfect alibi. You’re stage right with the perfect chance to lie. But it’s the climax. There’s nothing left to say. Just pull your trigger. Let the people have their way. The crowd is applauding. What they don’t know is that what they just lay witness to? it wasn’t a show. We are the greatest actors alive. We know the greatest places to hide. -April 4, 2:00 p.m.

Someday I'll never see. Someone I couldn't be. Someway I'll never know. Somehow, I can't let go of every movement. Every line. Every straying in the want of your eye. I only wished you well, and this is what you've done to me. This is how you come to me? I only wished you well. This is what you've done to me. Look at what's become of me. I'm everything you aren't. I'm everything you lost. Something you'll never see, exactly what these words could mean. Somehow I wish you'd keep everything you had to leave. Every movement. Every line. Every straying in the want of your eye. I only wished you well, and this is what you've done to me. This is how you come to me? I only wished you well. This is what you've done to me. Look at what's become of me. You aren't everything you've lost. You've lost. I only wish you well. Well...
